Designs, develops, modifies and evaluates components and processes used in the generation, manipulation, transmission and storage of electricity. Determines design approaches and parameters. Analyzes equipment to establish operating data and conducts experiments.
The Product Development Electrical Engineer will be responsible for contributing to the electrical subsystem design and development within portable handheld computers and accessories for mission-critical enterprise applications. Specific duties will include:
Ø Works with North America, Taiwan, and China-based ODM product development teams to develops and applies technical and quality improvements that meet product requirements for Enterprise-Class Mobile Computing devices.
Ø Work on electrical circuit design, including PCB layout, troubleshooting, and provide leadership to others in resolving system test issues.
Ø Uses status as a fulcrum in hardware design and across multiple engineering disciplines to provide technical support to a given program
Ø Need travel to ODM’s factory for on-site support.
Ø Excellent written and oral communication skills in both English and Mandarin.
Ø Ability to work independently with motivation and self-direction.
Ø BSEE with 5+ years of relevant experience.
Ø Experience of 3+ years with integrating embedded processors, memory systems, and audio systems into mobile devices.
Ø Experience in the capacitance touch panel and display design.
Ø Experience with batteries and charger design
Ø Experience in the Regulatory test methodology.
Ø Experience with wireless network device implementation/design (802.11b/a/g/n, cellular band modems, and Bluetooth) is a plus
Ø Knowledge of radio frequency and antenna design is a plus
Ø Experience in the signal and high-speed trace design and able to run the simulation is a plus

- Bachelors degree and 4+ year experience or Masters degree and 2+ year experience
- All other Regions:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 6+ years work experience
- Advanced level of understanding of the electrical engineering discipline
- Advanced level of knowledge of electrical components
- Strong understanding of sustainable design practices
