Our Equity Derivatives and Trading division has an exciting opportunity for a Business Analyst/ Project Manager to join our team in Hong Kong.
The Equity Derivatives and Trading Central Team is responsible for coordinating delivery of strategic change initiatives across multiple business lines and locations. The team primarily focuses on projects which require extensive coordination across divisions, multiple work streams and stakeholders.
Your contribution will be crucial in the successful delivery of projects within Equity Derivatives and Trading. You will be managing the delivery of the division’s regulatory obligations, partnering closely with regional business lines and support units, including Risk Management, Legal, Compliance, Tax, Accounting, Technology and Operations.
Taking ownership of Equity Derivatives and Trading’s regulatory projects, you will be accountable for the full project lifecycle, developing project plans to define, monitor and report on project status. You’ll then actively drive the project agenda throughout the timeline, consistently engaging with project stakeholders, providing timely updates, and ultimately driving successful project deliverables.
As you work through the project process, you’ll be responsible for identifying, escalating and successfully mitigating risks associated with regulatory obligations. You will partner with, and hold accountable, functional teams such as Operations, Technology, Compliance, Finance and Corporate Data, to ensure their project responsibilities are well understood, documented and executed accordingly – and you’ll act as the central point of communication with these functions.
Governance and effective risk management are integral to all of Macquarie’s business activities – you’ll have a strong risk mindset and be able to build effective governance into all projects that you manage. To facilitate this, you will lead project tracking and status reporting, including auditable monitoring of project risk, discussion, actions, issues and decisions.
With at least 4 years’ experience within a regulatory reporting function in global banking environment (and ideally with a background in operations or as a business analyst), you will have exceptional communication skills, both verbally and in writing. You’ll find Macquarie to be an exceptionally collaborative workplace and building relationships with stakeholders across all levels will be vital to your success. You will have experience with documenting requirements and test cases, facilitating workshops, coordinating testing, business process mapping, process re-engineering and full project lifecycle. A solid understanding of global markets, particularly equity derivatives, would be a plus.
Having proven problem solving, analytical and quantitative skills are required as well as a tertiary qualification in Business Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science / Programming, Finance or a related discipline. You’ll be a self-starer who thrives in a fast-paced environment by demonstrating initiative, judgement, and tenacity.
